When will the test run be? If I can make it I'll bring the carpet... Left living room is kinda funny shaped, but the others are approximately rectangular.

I won't be able to make it to anything this weekend; I'm spending the whole weekend at a course Sad Will definitely have to put in some time working on the cover - I haven't done any work yet on the dome itself!

Yay for carpet Clap in the Air You rock Akkadis Nod

As for this weekend.....
....it's flat out busy for us from dawn 'till dusk with yoga training, BBQ, monster trucks, swimming lessons and a baby shower!

I really wanna see this thing get built but weekends at the moment are a bit mental with stuff  Sad Roll Eyes

Akkadis or anyone - do we have a final verdict on the dome cover plans.....is it going to be the colourful beanie camo cover or triangles or ... ?

Once it's decided I'll need to chase down SpunOut attendees to bring materials (to hyde or spunout) but I need to know what they should bring first. I put my hand up for beanie! I think we could start working on the cover now to ensure that we get it done as the dome itself is on the home straight  Clap in the Air

My place needed Sunday Kat?

Possibly. It depends if we get stage two done on Sat or not and if people are willing to sacrifice some of their weekend time.

There is always more fun things to do on the weekend. I know I've already turned down a couple of things I'd rather be doing myself. Because we are so close to having a dome! We just need all the people who said that they'd help to step up. We need you now!  Nod

I'm also hoping my neck unlocks tomorrow. (And before anyone else suggests it, I was NOT headbanging at ACDC.  Roll Eyes ) I want to be able to turn my head without my body having to turn too!

Where is it? I could come for a bit if I can find a way to get there and then on to my next event that evening.  Tongue

Also: Thinking ahead for lighting... I lit my dome in a really nifty way and I wanted to ask if you guys wanted to do the same.
I got a bunch of cords with a plug at one end and a bulb at the other. I strung a different lampshade on each cord and hung them all from the center of the dome. It was really cool. I also had fairy lights everywhere, but the main light came from the lamps.
I'll see if I have a picture anywhere...

Here's the pic...

I'd love to have like a dozen or so lights rather than just four.... If everyone can keep an eye out for crazy hanging lights and lampshades we could really do it up right (rather than throwing it all together at the last minute like I did).  Grin

I think if we make the lights ourselves (buy cord and sockets and plugs and put them together ourselves) it would be cheaper than buying them and we could make sure that they are long enough. That way we won't get that messy extension cord business I had going on.  Lips Sealed

We wouldn't be able to hang them from the middle if we are planning silks from there though would we? It does look pretty and very chill. I hope we can find lots of cheap yet funky shades in Perth. I will keep an eye out in verge collections. I have been collecting solar powered fairy lights and lantern things for a while now too. I think it might make a nice change from UV to have some warm light too.  Smiley

Has anyone found out a price for the netting previously mentioned?

Saturday workshop will be at Liam's Dad's house from after lunch. Liam - Can you give us a suburb please? And would you like to tell us about the machine we will be using and maybe show the pics of your test sample please?  Grin

Those weren't hung from the center either. They can hang from any vertex and even along the struts since they don't weigh much.  Nod

I suspect DangerRus would prefer to use his rig for his silks as it's a lot higher than the dome. So I wouldn't worry too much about the silks in the dome.

My only concern with that is that then it's going to be hard to chill in there if it's being used as a practise space. But if that's what you guys wanna do then I'll ask DangerRus if he has a spare.
